Earn money for student accounts with SCRIP!

Starting in 7th grade, all orchestra members have an individual student account. The money in students’ accounts can be used for any orchestra-related purchase:
  • Orchestra trips (8th grade Chicago trip, high school trips, etc.)
  • Instrument supplies (strings, shoulder rest, bow, rock stop, music...)
  • Private lessons on your child’s orchestra instrument
  • Summer music camps (Blue Lake, Summer String Splash, etc.)
  • Solo & Ensemble Fees
  • Orchestra merchandise (sweatshirts, t-shirts, water bottles, etc.)
  • Etc.!

Money can be added to student accounts in several ways:
  • Fundraisers (50% of the profit goes directly into your student’s account)
  • Direct donations
  • SCRIP

What is SCRIP?
Scrip is a gift card way of budgeting your spending.  With every gift card you purchase, a percentage of that card (ranging from 2 - 18%) with be placed directly in your student’s account.  You can pay for things like gasoline at Speedway, Family Fare, your Credit Card at Kohls, iTunes, Shutterfly, Staples, Meijer, local restaurants and hundreds of others.  There is a detailed list that can be downloaded from the Scrip website (www.shopwithscrip.com) that explains each card and the percentage you receive.
